On November 12, 2020, the proposal seminar of the 2020 Project of "Discipline Innovation Base of Income Distribution and Public Finance", which was co-sponsored by the Institute of Income Distribution and Public Finance and the School of Finance and Taxation of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, was successfully held in Room 403, Wenquan Building. This seminar attracted more than fifty experts, scholars and young doctoral students from the School of Business Administration, School of Accounting, School of Law, School of Public Administration, and School of Public Finance and Taxation to conduct academic exchanges and discussions. Zhang Kezhong, Dean of the School of Public Finance and Taxation, Zhang Yongqing, CPC Secretary of the School, Xue Gang, Associate Dean of the School, Sun Qunli, Vice President of the Institute of Income Distribution and Public Finance, Lu Yuanping, Vice President of the Institute and other leaders and experts attended this seminar.
The seminar was hosted by Professor Sun Qunli, Vice President of the Institute of Income Distribution and Public Finance. In the beginning, Prof. Sun Qunli delivered a speech on behalf of the Institute and expressed a warm welcome to all the experts and scholars for their attendance today and their active participation in the project application.
After that, Prof. Lu Yuanping, Executive Vice President of the Institute, gave a presentation to the experts and scholars, focusing on the history and planning of the base. Firstly, he summarized the work of the base in the past year in terms of base construction, subject research, social services, and external academic exchanges. Then, he gave an outlook on the vision of the base. He pointed out that the base will focus on three major research directions: modern science and technology and income distribution, field experiments and income distribution, and modern fiscal system and income distribution, and is committed to building a top academic base with top think tanks and ZUEL characteristics.
The seminar will help strengthen the academic communication and cooperation among various faculties of the university, unite efforts and collaborate sincerely, and jointly promote the discipline development of public finance and applied economics.
