Institute of Income Distribution and Public Finance (IIDPF) of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law was founded in 2010. Through the efforts of all our staff and the support from our alumni and friends, IIDPF has achieved remarkable results. In December 2019, we have established the Innovation Base of Income Distribution and Public Finance, becoming our university’s national-level research platform for applied economics. With more than a decade of accumulation and development, IIDPF has been adhering the research philosophy of “researching the principle of development, focusing on the practice of Chinese characteristic, and outlooking at the global governance pattern”. With our distinctive angle of income distribution research through financial redistribution, we have established our research objective of “serving the national needs and regional economic and social development” through the university’s thinktank. Going forward, we will focus on developing IIDPF into a domestic top-notch and international leading research institute.
Over the past 40 years since the Reform and Opening up, China has made tremendous economic development achievements, yet we are facing many new challenges. As the foundation and important pillar of national governance, establishing a modern fiscal system has become the engine and key to enhancing the effectiveness of national governance. Addressing the issue of income distribution is a proper part of a modern fiscal system. Leveraging on the traditional strengths of the University's finance discipline, IIDPF will contribute to the reform and improvement of the income distribution system in the new era, and responding to the strategic need of "promoting the modernisation of the national governance system and governance capacity". We have produced outstandingly influential academic results from the practice of China's economic development, and we hope that these research results will help to develop China's economy in a high-quality manner. We will continue to train higher quality talents for our country. IIDPF will keep promoting the cause together with our counterparts and the community at home and abroad. Let us contribute to the development of human knowledge and to the development of China and the world.
