Institute Profile

  The Institute of Income Distribution and Public Finance (IIDPF) of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL), founded in November 2010, is a research institution jointly established by the Institute of Social Sciences and the School of Public Finance and Taxation of ZUEL. Professor Yang Canming, the president of ZUEL and also a renowned financial scientist, is the Director of the Institute. Prof. Zhang Kezhong and Prof. Sun Qunli are the Vice Presidents. Professor Lu Yuanping is the Executive Vice-President. In December 2019, the "Innovation Base of Income Distribution and Public Finance" based on IIDPF was approved, becoming a national research platform in the field of applied economics of the University.

  IIDPF has an international interdisciplinary research team with a deep academic background, broad vision and active thinking. We have been actively involved in a number of international scientific cooperation projects, attracting the participation of renowned scholars from internationally renowned universities such as Oxford University, Cornell University and the University of Nottingham.

  Since the establishment of IIDPF, we have published numerous high-quality research results in authoritative journals at home and abroad, such as Social Science in China, Economic Research Journal and Management World. We have published over fifty papers in international journals such as Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, China Economic Review, Journal of Future Market, Journal of Happiness Studies and Social Indicators Research. In the meantime, a number of our research results have been awarded at national and provincial level. IIDPF has undertaken and completed a number of major projects commissioned by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance, the State Administration of Taxation, the Hubei Provincial Government and the Hubei Provincial Department of Finance. A number of research reports compiled by us have received important instructions from key provincial and ministerial leaders and been adopted in practice, achieving a sound social impact. The research On Regulating the Order of Income Distribution, a major project we undertook from the Ministry of Education, was awarded an excellent result.

  IIDPF has been investigating the following five areas in depth: National Governance and Public Finance Systems; Fiscal Policy and Income Distribution; Fieldwork Projects and Fiscal Policy Evaluation; Inequality of Income and Wealth; Poverty.
