November 18, 2016, Professor Aleksandar Grubor, Dean of School of Economics of University of Novi Sad in Serbia, and Vice Deans Tomislav Sudarevi and Professor Dejan Jak?i? visited our school for academic exchanges and negotiations. A symposium was held in the conference room on the 6th floor of Wenquan Building of School of Public Finance and Taxation. Professor Hu Hongshu, Dean and Doctoral Supervisor, Professor Mao Hui of the Department of Taxation, Director Cheng Mingmei of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, Dr. Peng Langchuan of the Department of Taxation, and Han Ruizi of the Student Affairs Office attended the symposium. The two sides held discussion on mutual visits of teachers, academic exchanges and cooperation, as well as other related issues, with fruitful consensuses being made.
At the beginning of the symposium, the two parties introduced each other and exchanged business cards. During an interval, Professor Chen Zhiyong came for greeting and sent gifts to Professor Aleksandar Grubor and his party to welcome their visit. After that, Dean Hu made a speech, expressing warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to University of Novi Sad for the visit. He hoped that the cooperation between the two sides would continue to be smooth and pleasant as always, and put forward the meeting objectives and related issues needed to be solved together. Then, Professor Aleksandar Grubor of University of Novi Sad also expressed his gratitude to our hospitality and proposed the purpose of this exchange.
Later, the two sides held a heated discussion on academic exchanges and cooperation in running schools. In terms of the latter, Professor Aleksandar Grubor proposed to have our teachers giving lectures at University of Novi Sad for more than two weeks, enhancing the effect of academic exchanges. Dean Hu expressed his willingness and invited the other party to send teachers to our school for communication. He also proposed that the two sides can further strengthen our teaching cooperation by hiring "visiting professors" from each other. The two parties discussed the conditions of "visiting professors" and reached a consensus. In terms of academic exchanges, Professor Tomislav Sudarevi? suggested to carry out cooperation with stronger academic features with our school, including inviting our teachers to be editorial board members of the academic journals sponsored by University of Novi Sad, and inviting our teachers to participate in their academic conferences held in May each year to maintain the long-term sustainability of academic exchanges. Dean Hu expressed support for his suggestion and invited professors from the other university to attend the international seminar to be held by our school next year. In addition, Dean Hu also proposed to conduct more substantive cooperation with each other on some specific projects.
At the end, Dean Hu Hongshu summarized the meeting, sorting out the ideas and main points of the talks, defining the wishes and goals of both sides, and putting forward the prospect of further cooperation. Both sides exchanged gifts to show their sincerity of cooperation. The meeting atmosphere was harmonious. The humorous conversation between Dean Hu and Professor Aleksandar Grubor won a lot of laughter and applause.
Through this exchange symposium, the cooperation between the two parties in academic exchanges had been strengthened, laying a good foundation for further exchanges and cooperation. Both sides have faith in a smoother cooperation and long-lasting friendship between the two universities.
