Chen Shuangzhuan, Vice Director of Taxation Research, visited IIDPF to deliver an academic lecture

In the afternoon of 21 November, Chen Shuangzhuan, Vice Director of the Editorial Department of Taxation Research, visited IIDPF and gave a lecture on the topic of "Selecting, Writing and Submitting Taxation Academic Papers". The lecture was hosted by Professor Lu Yuanping, Executive Director of the Institute for Income Distribution and Public Finance. Dr Wan Xin, Dr Zhang Fan, Dr Liu Erpeng and some postgraduate students attended the lecture. T1.jpg

During the lecture, Vice Director Chen explained in detail the direction of selecting topics for Taxation Research, the basic requirements for the publication of papers and the writing specifications. He pointed out that it is important to search for selected topics from the Party and State's relevant economic taxation priorities, the main points of the State Taxation Administration's work and the latest taxation policies and regulations. Talking about the basic requirements of writing, Vice Director Chen elaborated on four aspects of thesis writing: theoretical, academic, professional and innovative. He indicated that the theme should focus on "taxation". Authors need to balance theoretical and academic, systematic thinking, and focus on the logic of their writing as well as the discipline and professionalism of their presentation. The magazine encourages innovation but not novelty. Subsequently, Vice Director Chen also introduced the norms for writing academic papers and other matters that need attention. T3.jpg

Vice Director Chen Shuangzhuan has been working as an editor and reviewer for years, and has extensive experience in reviewing manuscripts. In this talk, he shared his accumulated editorial insights with the students and faculty present. The students and teachers on site expressed their gratitude to Vice Director Chen for his elaborate sharing with a round of applause. The participants had an in-depth exchange on issues related to thesis writing and submission, and they all expressed their benefits.
