Call for Papers for the 4th Academic Symposium on China's Resident Income and Wealth Distribution (2021)
publish date:2021-03-23 publisher:Sheng Qian

The report of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Party Central Committee points out that we should solidly promote common prosperity, constantly enhance people's sense of access, happiness and security, and promote the all-around development of people and social progress. At the same time, the Fifth Plenary Session of the CPC Central Committee adopted the Proposal of the CPC Central Committee on Formulating the Fourteenth Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development and the Visionary Goals for 2035, which for the first time put forward "achieving more obvious and substantial progress in the common prosperity of all people" as a visionary goal, and pointed out the need to stimulate the vitality of various market entities, improve macroeconomic governance, and establish a modern fiscal and financial system. This provides a direction for the use of a modern fiscal and financial system to promote the reform of the income distribution system in the coming period.

Different from the previous fiscal system construction and financial system construction, "establishing a modern fiscal and financial system" is a brand-new expression, which organically integrates the fiscal and financial systems and manages them in an integrated manner to carry out more effective macroeconomic regulation and control. To realize the modern fiscal and financial system as soon as possible, and to deepen the research on the income distribution of residents and modern fiscal and financial system, Economic Research Journal Press, Innovation and Talent Base for Income Distribution and Public Finance of Central South University of Finance and Economics and Law, and School of Finance and Taxation jointly present the "Academic Symposium on China's Resident Income and Wealth Distribution". The first three symposiums have been successfully held in 2017-2019, respectively. The 4th symposium is proposed to be held on April 24, 2021, at the South Lake Campus of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law due to the impact of COVID-19 (the exact date and format of the symposium may also change depending on the situation of epidemic prevention and control). The theme of this symposium is "Resident Income and Wealth Distribution and Modern Fiscal and Financial System". The symposium will invite famous economists to give academic reports, and young scholars active in the frontier of economics research to serve as reviewers of shortlisted papers. The symposium is now open for papers from economics colleagues at home and abroad.
