To take stock of the past and move forward to a better 2022, IIDPF held its "Annual General Meeting 2021" in Wuhan on 7 January 2022.
  The meeting was chaired by Dr Wan Xin, Director of the Office. Professor Shi Zhilai, Deputy Director of the Department of Scientific Research, Professor Sun Qunli, Deputy Director of IIDPF, Professor Lu Yuanping, Executive Deputy Director, Professor Yang Guochao, Director of the Center for Fiscal Big Data Research, Professor Zeng Jingjing, Director of the Center for Science and Technology Policy and Strategy Research, Associate Professor Ma Yuanyuan, Director of the Center for International Exchange and Cooperation, Dr. Zhou Qiang, Director of the Center for Rural Revitalization Research, Dr. Liu Erpeng, Director of the Center for Think Tank Research, Researchers Professor Wu Lei, Tian Professor Binbin, Associate Professor Yu Changyong, Associate Professor Zhao Ying, Dr. Zhang Fan, Dr. Wan Qian, Dr. Gao Sihan, Dr. Zou Wei and Dr. Zou Jianwen attended the meeting.
  At the beginning of the meeting, Professor Lu Yuanping, Executive Deputy Director, extended a warm welcome to everyone and gave a comprehensive summary of the work in 2021 in terms of scientific research results, academic exchanges, social services, talent training and faculty building. He pointed out that in the past year, IIDPF had achieved a lot of research results, made a breakthrough in the construction of a think tank and reached a new level in the construction of the research team, which could not be achieved without the joint efforts of all colleagues. Afterwards, Professor Sun Qunli, Deputy Director of IIDPF, gave a detailed account of the work of IIDPF in 2022 in terms of scientific research, academic exchange, international cooperation, cross-disciplinary construction, social service and think tank construction, and research team building.

  Next, the directors of the six centres gave their end-of-year presentations. Dr Liu Erpeng, Director of the Centre for Think Tank Research, reviewed the achievements made in think tank research in 2021 and gave an in-depth account of the difficulties encountered at the current stage of think tank construction as well as the corresponding plans and initiatives. Associate Professor Ma Yuanyuan, Director of the Centre for International Exchange and Cooperation, gave a brief summary of the international exchange work in 2021 from four aspects: development status, work objectives, work ideas and main tasks, and put forward specific implementation plans for the deployment of work in 2022. Dr Wan Xin, Director of the Office, gave an insightful summary of the administrative work in 2021 around system construction and proposed that the core of the administrative work in 2022 lies in precision to improve the timeliness of daily affairs, the initiative of research services and the creativity of team building. Professor Yang Guochao, Director of the Research Centre for Big Data in Finance, reviewed the main work in 2021 from three aspects: the construction of the big data centre, activity participation and scientific research achievements, and highlighted the work plan for 2022 from organising academic lectures and promoting data sharing. Professor Zeng Jingjing, Director of the Center for Science and Technology Policy and Strategy, summarized the work in three aspects: academic publications, the Xi Xian Innovation Cloud Forum and policy consultation, and proposed corresponding solutions and countermeasures to the problems and challenges at the current stage. Dr. Zhou Qiang, Director of the Centre for Rural Revitalization Research, summarized the work mainly from the aspect of academic research, and elaborated the work plan for 2022 from four aspects: team formation, academic research, subject declaration and academic communication.
  In the free speech session, experts and scholars exchanged views on "research services", "regular academic exchanges", "focus on research directions" and "social influence enhancement", etc. The meeting process was orderly and efficient.
  Looking back at the extraordinary year 2021, IIDPF has achieved many landmark results. In terms of academic construction, Chinese Fiscal Studies led by Prof. Yang Canming, the director of the base, was selected as one of the first batch of Chinese economics textbooks, and the validation meeting for the interdisciplinary degree in "income distribution" was successfully held. In terms of scientific research, 5 national and 11 provincial and ministerial level projects were awarded, 8 Chinese papers of category A and 10 Chinese papers of category B were published, 13 foreign papers of category Q1 and 9 foreign papers of category Q2 were published, and the researcher of the base, Mr. Li Wenjian, was officially published in the top international Journal of Public Economics. Professor Yang Canming, the director of the base, formally proposed the concept of four distributions and published it in the weekly magazine National Governance. In terms of base construction, the Centre for Science and Technology Policy and Strategy Research and the Centre for International Exchange and Cooperation Research were established one after another, and four research-oriented teachers were introduced. In terms of think tank construction, the case of "Survey and Dynamic Monitoring of China's Resident Income and Wealth" was selected as one of the reference cases of China's high-end think tanks, and a report on the survey of China's resident income and wealth distribution in 2020 was released. Four research results were approved by provincial and ministerial leaders.
  In 2021, under the leadership of Director Professor Yang Canming, IIDPF has taken another big step forward in its development, and we believe that with the joint efforts of everyone, the vision and goals will be achieved soon!
