  Is the Research of Women Scholars "Less Influential"?
  Gender disparities in research are a common global phenomenon, and female scholars are generally underperforming in terms of number, research output and citation impact, resulting in typical phenomena such as the "research output puzzle" and the "pipeline effect". The report will analyse the systematic differences in the research output and impact of scholars by gender and the reasons behind them based on a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, reveal the significant advantages of female scholars in the dimension of "social influence" and the mechanisms of their formation, and discuss the recommendations and inspirations for relevant science and technology policies.

  Professor and Doctoral Supervisor, Department of Information Management, School of Information Management, Wuhan University. Director of the Research Centre for Science and Education Management and Evaluation, Wuhan University. Her research interests include scientometrics, science and technology evaluation and science and technology policy. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Society for Scientometrics and Informetrics (ISSI), an Associate Editor of SCI/SSCI dual-indexed journal Scientometrics, a member of the editorial board of Quantitative Science Studies, Journal of Data and Information Science and many other international journals, a member of the Board of Directors of the Chinese Society for Scientology. Prof. Zhang is a member of the Board of Directors of the Chinese Society for Science and Technology Policy, and an advisory member of the Global Committee of Elsevier International Center for Science Evaluation. She has published more than 70 papers, including more than 30 in SSCI-indexed journals, and many of his papers have been selected as "highly cited papers" in the field of social sciences by ESI.
