The Impact of Knowledge Base, Knowledge Networks on Research Creativity

Innovation is a new combination of knowledge, and scientific creativity cannot be separated from scientific knowledge. The accumulation of an organisation's research knowledge base takes time, which is a common weakness of Chinese companies and research institutions. Collaborative networks can facilitate the inflow of knowledge and accelerate the pace of knowledge innovation. This report distinguishes between two types of knowledge networks: collaborative networks and knowledge factor networks, and shares a series of studies on knowledge bases, knowledge networks and research creativity, including micro-level studies based on organisational behaviour, and firm and industry-level studies based on econometric analysis of panel data. Based on this evidence, it also proposes the mechanism of the role of knowledge networks (transnational, cross-organisational and intra-organisational knowledge networks) in enhancing research creativity, and the internal and external interactions required for research creativity. The path from organisational learning and knowledge network management to research creativity is explored in the current new pattern of great power relations in Chinese enterprises.
