A Study on Narrowing the Income and Wealth Distribution Gap in China, authored by Professor Yang Canming, President of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law and Director of IIDPF, has been published. This book systematically analyses the current situation and causes of the income distribution and wealth distribution gap in China, and measures and decomposes the income gap and wealth gap between Chinese residents. It also examines the role of fiscal expenditure on people's livelihoods in narrowing the income and wealth gap between urban and rural areas, and analyses the income and wealth distribution and poverty reduction effects of fiscal precision poverty alleviation. It provides a scientific basis for decision-making on the reform of China's income distribution system and the narrowing of the income and wealth distribution gap.

After research and analysis, this book found that: (1) the current wealth gap among residents in China is relatively serious; (2) in terms of income inequality, wage income is the most important cause of income inequality, the income gap in China mainly comes from within urban and rural areas and within regions, and the education level has the highest contribution to the income gap; (3) in terms of wealth inequality, household income is the most important cause of wealth inequality. The wealth gap in China mainly comes from within urban and rural areas and within regions, and the net value of property makes the greatest contribution to the household wealth gap; (4) the scale of fiscal expenditure on people's livelihood can effectively narrow the urban-rural income gap and the regional income gap, and fiscal expenditure on education and social security and employment has a significant contribution to narrowing the urban-rural income gap; (5) fiscal funds for poverty alleviation have a significant positive impact on increasing the income of rural residents in poor areas, significantly reducing the incidence of poverty and significantly reduced the incidence of poverty.

A Study on Narrowing the Income and Wealth Distribution Gap in China is a research result of the Cultural Masters and "Four Batches" Talent Project of the Ministry of Publicity of China, and is also an important manifestation of IIDPF's active role as a university think tank.
