II. Introduction to the Conference

During his visit to Renmin University of China on April 25, 2022, General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that "accelerating the construction of philosophy and social sciences with Chinese characteristics boils down to constructing an autonomous Chinese knowledge system. Without the kernel of a knowledge system, the discipline system, academic system and discourse system are like the end of nothing." In order to accelerate the construction of China's autonomous knowledge system of economics, the Working Committee of the Handbook of Chinese Economics Research invited nationally renowned scholars to jointly compile the book, with the aim of distilling the original contributions of Chinese scholars and constructing a general analytical framework for major issues of the Chinese economy. The Handbook of Chinese Economics Research is an important milestone for China's autonomous knowledge system in economics, with important features such as platform, ecology, authority, issue-oriented, distillation, consensus and guidance.

The series of special seminars on the Handbook of Chinese Economic Research aims to conduct in-depth exchanges and discussions around the content of each chapter of the handbook. On March 18, 2023, a special seminar on Transfer Payment and Regional Balanced Development was successfully held at Shandong University, and on April 16, a special seminar on Real Estate and China's Macroeconomy was successfully held at Beijing Technology and Business University. The chapter discussed in this session is financial redistribution and the realization of common prosperity, compiled by Professor Yang Canming, President of ZUEL.
