Dr Wan Xin explained the overview of the course content, the course assessment and syllabus, and the teaching reflections. The course content is divided into four major sections, each of which is subdivided into three smaller sections of content. The course content is rich and varied, covering cutting-edge issues such as inequality, income distribution patterns, social mobility, new technologies and big data. The course is assessed with reference to undergraduate competencies through a final paper, which can be supplemented and improved in the future in terms of classroom design, process assessment and class management. Dr Gao Sihan discussed the thinking on classroom teaching design and optimisation. The course adheres to the principle of progressive cascading and focuses on student participation and interaction and knowledge transfer.
