On 11 January 2024, Professor Song Lina from the Business School of the University of Nottingham, visited IIDPF to hold an academic seminar. Together with the researchers and professors at IIDPF, she engaged in an in-depth discussion about IIDPF’s international exchange and cooperation projects for 2024 and future development assessment, etc. The academic seminar was hosted by Professor Lu Yuanping, Deputy Head of the Department of Scientific Research, Executive Director of IIDPF, with the participation of Professor ZHANG Kezhong, Dean of the School of Public Finance and Taxation, Deputy Director of IIDPF, and Professor SUN Liqun, Deputy Director of IIDPF, and over ten faculty members and students, including researchers Professor MA Yuanyuan, Associate Professor WAN Xin, Associate Professor LIU Erpeng, Assistant Professor WAN Qian, Assistant Professor ZOU Wei, Assistant Professor GAO Sihan, Assistant Professor ZOU Jianwen from IIDPF.
Professor Lu Yuanping, Executive Director of IIDPF, first introduced the recent development and future goals of IIDPF to Professor Song Lina. Professor Song Lina, elaborated on how IIDPF should strengthen international exchange and cooperation and organize international academic conferences from an international perspective. She pointed out that as an innovation and talent base for public finance, researchers at IIDPF need to draw from cutting-edge international academic research to gain a more comprehensive understanding of public finance issues, thereby better promoting academic innovation in the field of fiscal studies. Moreover, Professor Song emphasized that the researchers and professors at IIDPF should engage in academic research with an international perspective, learn from international experiences, invite foreign academic experts for academic exchanges and facilitate the future development and disciplinary innovation of IIDPF through international cooperation.
Close to the end of the seminar, Professor Song Lina introduced her research areas and academic achievements and became acquainted with the research areas of the other researchers and professors at IIDPF through the introduction of Professor Lu Yuanping, the Executive Director of IIDPF. In-depth discussions on fiscal studies papers and public finance research were conducted, which lays a foundation for future academic collaboration.
The seminar was brought to a successful close. Professor Song Lina shared the importance of international exchange and cooperation through her own experiences and humorous tone. Her insights are of great significance in guiding the future development of IIDPF and the academic research pursuits of faculty members and students.
