On September 14, the National Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences released the Announcement on the List of Annual Projects of the National Social Science Fund of China in 2024. Zhou Qiang, a researcher at the base, received approval for a general project of the National Social Science Fund of China. Researcher Gao Sihan received approval for a youth project of the National Social Science Fund of China.
Zhou Qiang serves as Associate Professor at the School of Economics, Director of the Department of Digital Economy and Master's Supervisor at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, and a researcher at the Innovation and Talent Base for Income Distribution and Public Finance. The research interests mainly include development economics, common prosperity, income distribution, digital economy, employment, and other fields. Zhou Qiang has presided over 1 general project of the National Social Science Fund of China, participated in 2 major national social science projects, published 3 monographs, and participated in the compilation of 2 monographs. The research results have won five awards at or above the provincial and ministerial level, such as the Second Prize of the 8th Award for Outstanding Scientific Research Achievements for Higher Education Institutions (Humanities and Social Sciences), the 8th Zhang Peigang Outstanding Achievement Award in Development Economics, and the Second Prize of the 12th Hubei Provincial Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award. He has published more than 20 papers in the Economic Research Journal, Statistical Research, and Journal of Quantitative & Technical Economics. He is currently an anonymous reviewer of the Economic Research Journal, Journal of Quantitative & Technical Economics, Chinese Rural Economy, Economic Review, and other journals.
Gao Sihan, PhD in Economics, serves as Associate Professor and Master's Supervisor at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law's Innovation and Talent Base for Income Distribution and Public Finance. The research interests include income distribution, fiscal and taxation theory and policy, development economics, and new institutional economics. The research results have been published in authoritative journals at home and abroad such as Cities, China Economic Review, China & World Economy, Chinese Rural Economy, Issues in Agricultural Economy, Economic Theory and Business Management, and Guangming Daily (Theoretical Edition), among others. She has presided over or participated in multiple national, provincial, and ministerial projects such as major projects of the National Social Science Fund of China, major projects of the Key Research Base of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education, and general programs of the Hubei Provincial Social Science Fund. She is an anonymous reviewer of Issues in Agricultural Economy, China & World Economy, and other journals and concurrently serves as a director of the Environmental Technology Branch of the Chinese Society of Technology Economics.
