On July 25, 2025, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Evaluation Studies (CASSES) officially announced the list of AMI think tanks for the Chinese Think Tank Comprehensive Evaluation Program (2025), and the Center for International Cooperation and Disciplinary Innovation of Income Distribution and Public Finance (111 Center) at the Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL) is on the list.
The Chinese Think Tank Comprehensive Evaluation Program, organized and implemented by the CASSES, operates on a four-year cycle. It employs the AMI index system for the comprehensive evaluation of think tanks, conducting cyclical global think tank evaluations and Chinese think tank comprehensive evaluations.
The 111 Center, since its establishment, has achieved fruitful results in think tank development. In 2016, the 111 Center, together with other ZUEL think tanks, ranked first with a perfect score of 100 in the MRPA comprehensive rankings of think tanks in universities in Project 211, as released by the Chinese Think Tank Index (CTTI). Furthermore, the Database for Dynamic Monitoring of Income and Wealth of Chinese Residents was recognized as an AMI Think Tank Reference Case in 2021. Additionally, the center received multiple accolades, including the CTTI 2022 Outstanding Think Tank Case, Special Prize for Outstanding Achievements of Think Tanks, and Top 100 University Think Tanks (Class A); CTTI 2024 Outstanding Think Tank Development Case and Second Prize for Outstanding Research Achievements of Think Tanks. A number of research reports compiled by the center have received important instructions from the CPC Central Committee and the key provincial and ministerial leaders and have been adopted in practice, achieving a sound social impact. The center takes income distribution as a key subject, serves the major national needs and regional economic and social development, and gives full play to its role as a university think tank.
The inclusion in the AMI Think Tank list marks a pivotal milestone for the 111 Center. Moving forward, the center will further deepen academic research, optimize decision-making consulting services, expand social service areas, deepen international exchanges and cooperation, and strive to establish itself as a new university think tank that holds a leading position in China and international renown, providing stronger intellectual support for academic progress and social development.
