Wang Zheng, whose courtesy name is Quinn, holds a Bachelor of Economics and a Bachelor of Science in International Agricultural Development from the University of California, Davis (UC Davis). He graduated with the highest honors in economics and received the Knowles A. Ryerson Award in Agriculture. Quinn conducted research at the prestigious Gaudin Lab at UC Davis. He employed meta-analysis and regression methods to assess the effectiveness of drought resistance strategies used by smallholder farmers. Additionally, he authored an honorary paper that examines the impact of index insurance on farmers' input decisions through using causal inference analysis based on data from randomized controlled trials (RCTs). His findings were presented at the Association for International Agriculture and Rural Development (AIARD).
Currently, Quinn is employed by the Rural Education Action Program (REAP) at Stanford University to provide academic support at the Center for International Cooperation and Disciplinary Innovation of Income Distribution and Public Finance (111 Center) at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law. His key responsibilities include editing academic papers, data cleaning and analysis, writing literature reviews, and supporting team research. Quinn aspires to further his research in agriculture and development economics. He is seeking to explore more effective and sustainable policy tools that can bring tangible benefits to smallholder farmers.
