Regarding academic research, Professor Yang Canming proposed an important perspective: First, the core of learning lies in the deep integration of "soft knowledge" and "hard knowledge." It is necessary to solidly build a foundation of hard knowledge while making innovative breakthroughs in soft knowledge through deep thinking and secondary processing. Second, interdisciplinary work cannot rely solely on external collaboration; it requires actively reading widely and embracing diverse perspectives to spark innovation through the exchange of ideas. Third, it is crucial to steadfastly uphold the principle that "practice yields true knowledge," emphasizing field experiments in research and resolutely rejecting utopianism.

Regarding the development of the 111 Center, he outlined three key directions: First, it is essential to advance "internationalization" by actively introducing high-quality foreign resources to empower growth. Second, there is a need to deepen "intelligent" transformation by emphasizing the integration of AI technology and discipline research. Third, efforts should be made to build "distinctive" strengths to avoid homogenization and establish differentiated core competitiveness.

This work summary conference comprehensively reviewed the achievements of the 111 Center in 2025 and systematically planned the key tasks and strategic directions for the next phase. It has not only fostered consensus and galvanized enthusiasm but also laid a solid foundation for the 111 Center to advance toward high-quality development at a higher level. Looking ahead, the 111 Center will adhere to its academic core of "integrating soft and hard knowledge, fostering interdisciplinary innovation, and pursuing practice-oriented research." Guided by the development path of "internationalization, intelligent transformation, and specialization," it will continuously enhance its research innovation capabilities, talent cultivation quality, and social service standards. The 111 Center strives to become a high-level disciplinary innovation platform with a global vision and Chinese characteristics.
